ABOUT TYLER

I’m Tyler Dandridge, an artist and senior industrial design student driven by experimentation and unconventional thinking. Born in upstate New York and now based in Arizona, my work lives at the intersection of surrealism, bold color, and dynamic form. I create pieces that feel vibrant, playful, and slightly disorienting - work that challenges expectations and sparks curiosity.

I’ve never been drawn to the traditional. I’m interested in contrast and contradiction simplicity paired with complexity, control meeting chaos, the familiar twisted into something unexpected. My paintings are meant to feel alive: immersive, striking, and hard to ignore.

As a senior studying industrial design, I translate that same energy into functional objects. I approach design as both storytelling and problem-solving, blending expressive form with practical intention. I’m drawn to products that rethink everyday interactions - objects that don’t just work well, but feel engaging, dynamic, and emotionally aware.

Resourcefulness has shaped the way I create. I believe creativity isn’t dependent on scale or budget, but on perspective and persistence. I’ve turned my bedroom into a studio and workshop, built projects with minimal tools, and learned to treat constraints as creative leverage rather than limitations.

No matter the medium - painting, product design, or experimental projects - my goal is to push my boundaries, embrace discomfort, and continue evolving. I’m building a practice rooted in bold exploration, thoughtful intention, and work that feels both expressive and purposeful.
